So, you think you have planned the perfect wedding. Not so fast!

So you think you have ironed out all the details? Well, that may be so for now but there are some things you will never be prepared for. I am not trying to make you second guess yourself, but rather want to prepare you for what could happen and more than likely will happen on your well-planned wedding day. Let’s start with the simple yet hard to accept the fact that we (all of us) are not perfect by any stretch of the imagination. I think we can all safely agree on that.

With that simple introduction we are on our way to all the ways and reasons our wedding can go astray. The first and biggest reason weddings can go off the rails is tardiness. We are always late to everything, it is a national problem at company’s across the US and beyond. Will there be someone late to your wedding ceremony? The answer is a resounding YES. All you can hope for is that all the important people are on time (Bride, Groom, and Pastor). Everyone else I would simply consider a bonus. Every wedding I have ever covered in fifteen years has had someone walk-in late from ten to thirty minutes. So my advise is to just let this go.

The second reason weddings can go haywire is not trusting your wedding coordinator or the person you have assigned to keep your wedding moving along. Here is something you do not want any part of during your wedding day. I cannot stress this enough. There simply are to many moving parts in a wedding and to try and handle them yourself is crazy talk. Give this job to some one to handle for you. We all have that really bossy Aunt or Uncle who always keeps things moving along, They really enjoy yelling when it is needed and a wedding is where this skill really comes in handy and it will make them feel important on you special day when time is of the essences. I would recommend you giving them a gift card to their favorite restaurant as a thank you. It will make everyone happy in the end.

The last thing you have to keep in mind is something you have no control over and it is something you cannot eliminate from your wedding day. What might it be, I know your asking it is Alcohol. No wedding is complete without some good old fashion adult beverages. The problem is we can sometimes get a little carried away with it and others can get a lot carried away with it. It is the single biggest reasons weddings can go south in a hurry. The culprits and vary wildly and it can be anyone, and I do mean anyone. Family, friends and even uninvited guest can play a role in ruining your wedding with just a few drinks. I have seen it happen more times than I would like to share but the fact is someone will have too much to drink. I pray they can keep themselves together for you on your wedding day.

We want you to have an amazing wedding and to plan for one. We also want you to keep in mind that things happen. Sometimes when things go wrong it puts a stamp on your event which can be the reason for people to forever remember your wedding day. Keep in mind that what ever does happen, it will forever be a part of your special day. Just remember that we are all humane and that you just married the love of your life, so be happy or sad depending on what happened and ask God for a great future together.
